June 2008

The Women of SciFi page is no longer? Is Slacktwaddle no more or did someone just drop the ball and forget to renew the domain name?

What the heck is Slacktwaddle?

Slacktwaddle is a company started by Christopher Judge and Michael Shanks as they realized they wanted to move more into producing television and film, as opposed to just acting in them. They're also intending to offer sci fi merchandise, as they believe with their connections in the field, they're perfect to bring die hard sci fi fans quality merchandise.

No, what the heck does the name mean?

Oh. The first year that Christopher and Michael were doing Stargate, before the pilot even aired, the cast was invited to a Planet Hollywood opening. Some reviewers that were covering the opening asked what celebrities had come. At the mention of the cast of Stargate, they called SG some "slacktwaddle" show. Christopher and Michael thought that was very funny, and so it became their name.

What kinds of merchandise do they offer?

At this point in time, Slacktwaddle has a 2007 Women of Sci Fi calendar out. Also available is a behind the scenes DVD "The Making Of The Women of Sci Fi". A 2008 Women of Sci Fi calendar is planned, as well as a 2008 Men of Sci Fi calendar. In which Christopher will likely be Mr. October, and Michael has been told that he will be in it also.

The calendars, by the way, are shot by Christopher who has a background in fashion photography.
